Motherhood is a great excuse to enjoy those things you missed out on in your own childhood - like being a Girl Scout. It started doing a scrapbook workshop for one of the troops. Then it was cookie sales and being Cookie Mom - for 2, then 3 troops. And the Junior troop leader had done her turn and handed over the badges to me. So here we are on the Mall in D.C. under the Washington Monument with a zillion Girl Scouts celebrating 100 years of empowering girls.
