What do you do the day after...

C. called me this morning - as Corresponding Secretary of the PTA she had to talk to me. A student at the school died last night in a car accident, we needed to prepare something to send to his mother. Not only have I not been able to think of what to send, the thought that's been naggin in my head all day is "what do you do the day after your child dies?" How did his mother wake up this morning? Has she cried all day? Does she even believe that her child is gone? When will she smile again, when will she laugh? Did she like the school portraits that just came home yesterday? When was the last time she kissed him? what will she do today? and what do you do the day after that?
